Wraps are the most traditional baby carriers of all, they are simply pieces of cloth that are tied around the wearer and the baby. Wraps come in two main fabric types, stretchy and woven. Stretchy wraps are made of a knit fabric and are well suited for use with newborns and young infants for use in front carries. Woven wraps are made of fabric woven specifically for carrying babies, and can be used from the newborn period all the way through toddlerhood in front, hip, and back carrying positions. While wraps may seem daunting to learn, they are possibly the most comfortable and versatile of all the types of carriers available today.
